EMO KIDS

Emo Kids: Fashion and Passion

All around the U.K., people are listening to bands that entail music that deals with the harsh realities of the world. From this “down” from of music, young people are really beginning to show their emotions.

The term to describe people with this type of mindset is “emo.” Emo is short for emotional, or the emotional punk movement. The movement began in the early 1980’s. out of the backdrop clubs of Washington D.C.

Since then, the “movement” has experienced its ups and downs, but those downs are now ups. Every day, more and more young British people are adopting the “emo” lifestyle.
What is causing young people to adopt the “emo” lifestyle? One answer is that general society does not provide an outlet, which allows young people to express their true emotions – forcing them to hold them inside. Not anymore for these young teens who don not care about the rules and restrictions of general society.

Now, emos are letting out their true emotions, in both public and private. This can be seen in the type of clothing that emos wear and in the hair they wear. A typical emo has a pale face, with makeup around the lips, eyes, and cheeks. They wear hair that consists of different colors.
Moreover, emos wear accessories that display their true emo side. They wear anything from small, multicolored hair bows to black bracelets.

Emos are also known to wear clothing that has names on unknown bands. This is to symbolize their understanding they themselves are unknown to the mainstream world. However, as this rising trend in young teens and adults, their parents are beginning to understand them as well.
Instead of viewing this as a phase, parents are beginning to understand what it means for their kids to be emo and is happy that they have an outlet to express their most innerselves. That is something that can’t be taught in any school.

The emo culture is being passes along to their children as well. Now, there are babies that can be seen wearing emo clothing in public places such as malls, eating places, and parks throughout the UK and most of the world.

There are places on the Internet that offers baby and adult emo clothing/ accessories, at low prices. To find go to a search engine and type “cheap baby/adult emo clothing” and see what you can come up with.

EMO TRENDS AND FASHION

Emo Trends and Fashion: The Passion of the Emo

One of the top fashion trend for young teens is dressing and acting emo. What is emo and why has it taken hold on these young folks?

Emo is a style and culture that is based on punk rock music. The music was born out of the rock music of the 1980’s and has grown slowly over the years.

Although, this movement has taken many young people by storm, there are critics of this movement. Some people say it promotes devil worship. Others say its caused kids to commit suicide.

On the later, it maybe have some truth to it, but overall, the emo culture doesn’t not in any way promote devil worship and Satanism.

Moreover, when one talks with an emo follower and asks them if they’re emo, they will say, “what is emo?” To them, they see emo has a personal thing, rather than a cult.
Despite this, they have adopt a style that can be at times very disturbing. The emo culture can be disturbing at times, especially when one observes them and see what they are wearing.
They wear tight clothing, dark eyeliners, colorful or dark clothing/clothing accessories, and constantly display a morose mood.

Now, you must wonder why would they, especially the males, adopt a style such as this? Could it be that it allows guys to lay down their masculine guards, to attract females? Could they simply be depressed by nature? Or, is it something else?

Whatever the answer, the emo fashion movement is alive and well. Now, if you want to dress and look emo, here are a few basic things you need:

- A pair or two or girl’s jeans (even if you’re a guy )
- Girl’s makeup ( cheap makeup will do)
- Emo accessories (colored hair bows, nose rings, etc.)

Now, that you’re emo, you can sport your new emo look and just be you.

EMO ROCK LOOKS

Emo Rock Looks

As the emo culture grows by the day, more and more young teens want to adopt this style. The emo culture was born in the nightclubs of Washington, D.C., in the 1980’s. For a short period, the movement was very strong, until the 90’s arrived and the movement began to die.

But in the past decade, the movement was reborn, with bands such as Panic! At the Disco, Cambria, and Fall Out Boy. It is these bands that represent the emo punk movement.

For those who want to look and dress emo, you should consider this:

- Adopting emo clothing is easier that starting your own emo rock band. This is not to say that these bands are no good. Just that creating an band takes work – real work.

- When you go into a typical salon and request an emo hairstyle like that of emo band members, you may get some weird looks and questions, since these band members are practically unknown.

But, if you are faced with this dilemma, then no need to worry. Creating emo hair is as simple as pie and can be done with cutting your hair with a round-shaped object over it.
The most trendy of this form of haircut is dying the hair jet black. The back and the sides of the hair is shorter than the front, leaving your hair done in an unusual, but unique.

Moreover, the bangs are brushed to on side of the face (left or right), covering that part of the face. To top off the look, you could wear t-shirt and other clothing that has the names of these unknown emo rock bands. Now, you’re ready to go out on the town and style your new emo look.

EMO KIDS vs SCENE KIDS

Scene Kids vs. Emo Kids

What is the difference between scene kids and emo kids? Scene kids, like emo kids, enjoy listening to punk, or rock music. Also, just like emo kids, they tend to wear the latest clothing and decorate them – in their own unique way.

The scene girls tend to don short-cropped hair, while the scene boys tend to wear hair with long bangs. The typical hair color for scene kids is bright colors like yellow or pink. In addition, scene kids tend to love the spotlight and crave attention from others and like to wear t-shirts of unknown bands.

Outwardly, emo and scene kids have similar traits, but on the inside, they are not. One of these differences is that emo children generally are calm, emotional, and shy. In fact, most emo kids are so emotional that at the slightest instance, they begin to cry for no reason. Another difference between emo kids and scene kids is emo kids don’t like to be around large groups or communicate with those outside their group.

This is not the case with a scene kid. If one would look on some of the MySpace pages of emo kids, they would assume that they’re overly sad and depressed. Most people think that emo people are the same as gothic people, but they’re not. Goth clothing is all black, compared to the different colors of clothing worn by emo people.

There you have it. Although scene, goth, and emo kids look the same, but when you look at them more closely, they’re completely separate from each other, in terms of mannerisms, looks, and dress.

EMO HAIR FOR GIRLS

Emo Hair for Girls

Girls wanting to sport emo hair have a variety of options as they have hair generally long enough to sport such a style. If your hair is medium to long, you are in luck. It could be a matter of few weeks and you can start doing your hair in emo style. If your hair is short, you will have to wait a few months for it to grow long enough to get those hot emo looks.

While your hair is growing, try keeping it straight and comb it towards one side from the top of the head towards your forehead. When it is long enough and tends to cover one eye, you can cut it in an emo style. For the back hair, either you can keep it short to medium or long.

This is your choice. The best way to know is to make it long first and try a few different hairstyles that you think will suit you. If you find the one, in which you look a true emo, keep it and nurture it. Otherwise, you can cut it, until you reach your desired length and looks.

Dye your hair jet black, as this is the basic emo color. If you want to look different and get noticed, you can use your creativity or ask an emo friend of yours to give you colored streaks. You can use electric, neon shades of blue, red, pink, and purple. Emo girls can use a variety of accessories to like hair bands, and clips to enhance their emo hair.

Since emo hair is very asymmetrical and straight, you can use hair gels to spike it on the top or towards the back of your head. Hair sprays can be used to keep it straight and in place.

EMO HAIR FOR BOYS

Emo Hair for Boys

Emo boys can keep their hair long or short depending on the looks they want to achieve. If you have really short hair and want to have those hot emo looks you have been seeing around you, you will have to wait for a couple of months before you can style your hair the emo way.

During the period in which your hair grows, try combing it in the direction of one eye that you want to cover. Trim the fringe of your hair in the right shape to give it the emo look. You can use hair gels to spike your hair. First, you have to straighten out your hair. If you have curly hair, you might have to use iron or gels to do that. Hair gels and sprays can be used to straighten wavy hair.

If your hair is not black, dye it. Use different combinations of colors to streak your hair with neon and electric being the favorites. Try experimenting with different shapes and styles to get the emo looks for you hair and yourself. The emo hair is asymmetrical. The more asymmetric your hair is, the more you will appeal as an emo.

Wash your hair at regular intervals, whenever you feel it is dirty to keep it healthy. Use conditioners and moisturizers if your hair tends to get dry. After you have achieved your very first emo looks with your hair, keep it in shape and style with regular upkeep to maintain the emo looks.
